Beijing, June 24 (IANS) Two people died and about 100 others were injured in China in a 5.7-magnitude quake Sunday, the authorities said.
The casualties took place in Ninglang county of Yunnan province and in neighbouring Yanyuan county of Sichuan province, reports Xinhua.
Authorities have sent 300 tents and 500 quilts.
Telecommunication networks were cut.
The tremor struck around 4.00 p.m. followed by a 3.3-magnitude aftershock two minutes later, the China Earthquake Networks Centre said.
