The top priority of the Traffic Police is to identify the deadliest roads in the Kingdom.
Nineteen people die every day and traffic accidents are the fifth cause of death in Saudi Arabia. “The number of people killed increased by almost 10 percent in the last year,” said Khaled Al-Eisa, supervisor of the King Abdulaziz University Hospital.“The General Administration of Traffic Police will identify the most dangerous roads in each province where frequent and deadly road accidents take place,” Maj. Gen. Abdul Rahman Al-Muqbil, director of the administration said.
“We will work with the Ministry of Transportation, Municipalities, the Road Security Department and police, to discover the cause of repeat accidents and take steps to improve safety on the Kingdom’s roads,” he added.
“Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs Prince Muhammad bin Naif established the automation of all operations and services of the traffic department as a priority.” Al-Muqbil said.
