Thailand national coach Winfried Schafer has named his squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifier with Oman in Asia Zone Group D on February 29.
The team is currently preparing for the match in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai.
Schafer faces several selection concerns - Teerasil Dangda is struggling with an injury, while Terrathorn Boonmathan is suspended for the encounter.
In order to reach the final stage of qualification, Thailand will need to win against Oman and hope that Australia defeat Saudi Arabia. This would allow Thailand to finish in second place with seven points.
At present, Australia have already qualified with 12 points, while Saudi Arabia have six points. Oman have five points, while Thailand are currently bottom of the group with four points.
“We can't cannot afford to do anything but win,” Schafer noted. He added: "[The team would have to] play our hearts out for the country."
