The theme for X Factor this week was Abba v Motown and the much loved/hated contestant Rylan Clark wasn't able to charm his way into the semi-finals.
The night started with the finalist's singing Vida La Vida by Coldplay. We don't think we've ever seen a group song that was all boys. It really brought home the fact all the girls are out of the competition.
Bruno Mars was first up to perform his new track, Locked Out Of Heaven in his usual jazzy style. But all eyes were on Rihanna as she wowed with her intense performance of her hit Diamonds. Ironically, the singer had rain poured over her during the track and there were a lot of umbrella jokes made by viewers.
But then it was back to business and Union J and Rylan found themselves back in the bottom two.
Rylan went first with a surprisingly good rendition of Wires by Athlete.
Union J gave an emotional performance with their version of Run by Snow Patrol
While Nicole Scherzinger backed her act Rylan, the other three judges chose to save Union J. We thought it was sweet how Gary Barlow made his little speech about how much he did love Rylan really, just not as a musician.
So it's goodbye to Rylan. For now anyway, we're sure he'll be popping up with some sort of TV show soon enough.
So now we're left with Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur, Union J and Christoher Maloney?
Are you happy with this year's semi finalists?
