Real-life Barbies Valeria, Venus and Dakota

Living dolls are becoming the new internet sensation, with a Ukrainian, a Brit and an American leading the march.

All have huge eyes, flawless porcelain skin, endless legs, shiny hair and vacant stares to match their little-girl outfits.

Valeria Lukyanova, 21, has sparked so much speculation about whether she has gone under the knife or been Photoshopped that Taiwan's New Media Animation has even uploaded a spoof cartoon about her purported plastic surgery on YouTube.

In her own YouTube response, Lukyanova recorded a video titled "Doll's appearance is not everything".

She writes on the page: "The easiest way to slander and to me as a doll, for outer beauty is, nothing (sic).

"No one said that my looks, it is hard work for many years and good genes. Not mentioned in his video that I rawfoodist, that I do not drink, I do not smoke."

Lukyanova is not the only living doll. In hot contention are the lisping British 15-year-old, Venus Palermo, who speaks with a fake Japanese accent, and 16-year-old Dakota Rose.
