Rage Indoor Skate Park hosts a Hot Tricks session
Following a highly successful Rage Ramadan Jam at Dubai Sports World, skateboarding and BMX junkies will be happy to know that there is a Hot Tricks competition coming up and some juicy prizes are up for grabs.
The Rage Indoor Skate Park has proven a big hit this summer at the Dubai World Trade Centre and on August 16, it will host a Hot Tricks session where BMX and skate riders will showcase their best tricks across 11 categories.
Rails, grind boxes, fun boxes and a mini ramp are just a few obstacles that will be part of the competition. There will be one winner per category with grand prizes including Dh1,000 BMX vouchers, custom skateboards and more.
The entry fee is Dh35 and the competition kicks off at 14:00, where competitors can register at the venue and go on to enjoy some warm-up rounds. There is no age limit, so anyone who can skate or BMX can join the fun. There will be nine different best trick competitions for skate and two divisions for the BMX competition – juniors and seniors.
“We want the skate and BMX community to come together on one platform and just enjoy their passion for skateboarding and BMXing,” says Karishma Rajput, responsible for marketing of the event.
“It’s a great chance for skaters and BMXers to come down, shred some sick tricks and win heaps of cool prizes like BMX vouchers and skateboard vouchers. We are also giving away 200 Etnies T-Shirts. It’s an event that nobody should miss out on.”
The skate park itself is open until August 31 and if you haven’t visited yet, then this competition would be a fun introduction to the venue, if not to take part, at least to check out some of the skill and talent present in the UAE.
If you’ve been catching the Los Angeles X Games on ESPN these past few days, then surely skateboard champion Nyjah Huston or BMX star Chad Kerley must have inspired you to try and master a trick or two. If you think you’ve got the skills to dazzle on your wheels then this competition sounds like your true calling.
