Poll of the Day: What was the best moment of the Euro 2012 quarter-finals?

England’s dramatic exit from Euro 2012 following their defeat on penalties to Italy on Sunday saw the quarter-finals go out with a bang. The last eight has provided us with a great amount of drama, controversy and most importantly, entertainment.

Andrea Pirlo impressed us all when he coolly converted an audacious chipped spot-kick past Joe Hart to extend the Azzurri’s lead. That spectacular moment got us thinking, what’s your favourite moment of the quarter-finals?

There’s a lot to choose from, Xabi Alonso’s impressive birthday double to knock out France is definitely a contender, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s one-man show against Czech Republic is certainly up there too.

Another great moment to consider is Joachim Low's surprise team line-up against Greece. It came as a shock to most people, but it proved effective as Germany dumped the Ethniki out of the tournament with relative ease.
