      I've been a music industry since I was seven years old, and I didn't know who this guy is and non of my friends or my group knows this guy, How can he be considered renowned? Maybe renowned in India only or those people who likes Indian music.

        Friend , Pandit Ravi Shankar is famous in Indian sub continent and West and East ...he is a bit old so you may be not aware ...may be you are young ...Ravi Shankar is renowned for any serious musician and is considered by many serious musicians as one of the greatest living music legends ....regarding your comment , many Indians or Arabs do not know MOZART - this doesnt mean Mozart is not renowned....if you are serious musician , you shd have open heart to listen and appreciate all forms of good music ...please try to listen ...youtube is full of music ( now it is very easy to get free )....good luck ....
