The cruise ship Costa Concordia hits rocks and capsizes off the Isola del Giglio, three people are known to have died but many others are missing.

Three people died and several were missing after the ship with more than 4,000 people on board ran aground sparking chaos as passengers scrambled to get off. The ship was on a cruise in the Mediterranean, leaving from Savona with planned stops in Civitavecchia, Palermo, Cagliari, Palma, Barcelona and Marseille," the company said.
