As the definitive Nineties hip spot, Dragon Eye could’ve lost its cool cachet at the stroke of the millennium, but it is still the see-and-be-seen spot for the Hong Kong A-list. The decor is luxurious – divided into the Red Room, a dining area-cum-VIP space, and the Playground, a dance floor and bar. The themed Models Night on Wednesdays rock.

M1nt, Shanghai
Awarded ‘Best Club of the Year’ in 2009, M1nt– perched high above Shanghai, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows offering 360° views of the city – is the crown jewel of Shanghai’s nightlife corridor. With a nightclub, bar, deck and restaurant, this members-only venue puts a focus on exclusivity, while the velvet rope, and a list of international DJs offer a global vibe. Fridays are the best nights.

Zouk, Singapore
Voted ‘Best Nightspot Experience’ seven times, most recently in 2009 by Singapore’s Tourism Awards, Zouk has been the soul of Singapore nightlife for 15 years. It’s an industrial-style 2,000-capacity nightclub in a warehouse. Legendary DJs like Tiesto, Chemical Brothers and Sasha and Digweed have played here. Queues go round the block on busy nights. Head to Zouk on a Saturday night.

Bed Supperclub, Bangkok
Through sliding doors manned by attendants, the bar – lit up in soft blue neon – offers a livelier alternative to serene dining area. Thai and international DJs spin Latin House, Hip Hop and Asian fusion. What's more, the drinks feature fresh Thai ingredients combined with infused syrups, herbs, foams and sorbets.

Hype, Mumbai
Billed as “the country's first luxury nightclub,” Hype is 7,000 square feet of clubbing bliss in the heart of South Mumbai. The clientele is Bollywood A-list, the décor is contemporary and I spearhead a mix of global and Bollywood music in addition to a line-up of international DJs. Drop by on Fridays and Saturdays.
