ABU DHABI: The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) will implement an online sick leave attestation programme from next month to prevent the misuse or abuse of sick leave certificates.
All licensed healthcare professionals in the emirate will have to issue sick leave certificates only through this new system.
Dr. Jamal Al Ka’abi, Director, Customer Care and Corporate Communication Division at HAAD, said: “The HAAD is continuously working on improving its services. The launch of the e-sick leave attestation system is one step towards more efficient and easy-to-follow process that will improve our customers’ satisfaction and ensure a better adherence to health regulations and standards among physicians.”
The online programme is expected to save time and efforts of all concerned parties besides improving the sick leave attestation process.
“The new system improves the transparency on regulatory requirements; supports decision-making through access to international evidence-based guidance for sick leave periods and ensures healthcare providers are aware of their duties when issuing sick leave certificates,” Al Ka'abi added.
