This Ramadan, hit the web for your fix of drama: Yahoo! Maktoob and Batoota Films present a new interactive web drama series, Fasateen (Dresses).
Normally, unless you speak Arabic, you have no chance of getting involved in the drama series which are such an integral part of the month - but Fasateen will be subtitled for your enjoyment.
Fasateen (Dresses)Fasateen is the story of three women living in Beirut, and the challenges that they face every day. This new interactive series allows viewers to vote on what they think the characters should do next at the end of each episode, exclusively on Yahoo! Maktoob Screen.
The story revolves around three women living in Beirut - Aliya, a single mother, Lama, a rich wife, and Karma, a woman stuck between her family and a secret lover.
As a single mother, Aliya is always concerned about the happiness and welfare of her son Ziad, especially with his father out of their lives.
Lama lives a luxurious life with her husband’s money. She keeps herself busy shopping in the malls, visiting salons and attending her women’s committee. But you soon realise that she is a lonely soul with her husband always being away.
Karma is the youngest of the three, an independent woman with strong ideals and a personality to match. She fights to keep her love affair a secret from her family.
Fasateen stories have varying themes but all three characters blend through their deep friendship.
Starting Tuesday 31 July, you can catch this 10-episode series exclusively on Yahoo! Maktoob Screen. There are two alternative endings each week - vote and see which one will continue the story the following week.
