Man kills himself in busy UAE gun club

A Danish man committed suicide in a busy UAE gun club, shooting himself in the head as others watched on, according to local press reports.

The incident happened at about 3pm on Saturday at the Sharjah Shooting Club, local daily Gulf News reported on Tuesday, citing local police.

The 32-year-old man, who has been identified only as RDM, was apparently practicing in the firing range when he suddenly turned the gun on himself and fired.

Witnesses say the incident happened so fast that no one was able to stop him, UAE website Emirates 24/7 reported, adding he died instantly.

It is thought the man was in the UAE on a visit visa.
