Malala Yousafzai, the 14-year-old survivor of a Taliban shooting in Pakistan, is set to visit the UAE in February to thank all her supporters here, daily Gulf News reported on Thursday.
The schoolgirl is slowly recovering in a hospital in the UK and is keen to thank her supporters in the UAE.
Her visit was confirmed by the Pakistani Ambassador, Jamil Khan, during a tribute to her at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the report added.
“The message of peace resonates from personalities like Malala who become institutions,” Gulf News reported the Ambassador as saying.
He then went on to describe Malala as a, “star” and a “source of inspiration.”
After Malala’s visit to the UAE, she is expected to travel to Mecca for ‘Omra’.
