Katy Perry Is Forbes’ Highest Paid Female Celebrity

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris might be the world’s highest paid celebrity couple, but Katy Perry has been revealed as the highest paid female celebrity in her own right, and the third highest paid celeb overall, according to a report in Forbes.

Crikey. Congratu-well done, Katy!

Interestingly, only 16 of the world’s best paid celebs are women, with the women’s combined income coming to $809m, compared with $4.35bn for the men.

PLUS, 30-year-old Katy, along with rival Taylor Swift, 25, are the only two women featured on the top ten list of overall highest earning celebrities in the world.

Sounds like the world’s still got a lot of work to do on the gender pay gap, huh?

On the list of female earners, Ellen DeGeneres (third, $75M), Lady Gaga (fourth, $59M), Beyoncé Knowles (fifth, $54.5M), and Kim Kardashian (sixth, $52.5M) all feature, with only two actresses (Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson) joining them.

While the female actresses refused to speak to Forbes (according to the magazine), Katy agreed to be put on the cover, saying: “I’m not here to brag. I’m here to inspire other females.”

The incredible singer has sold 11 million albums and 81 million singles since her very first debut back in 2001, and it’s safe to say she’s DEFINITELY continuing to go from strength-to-strength.

She added: “I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company.

“I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually wanted to kind of grab it by its balls.”
