Emirati writer to break book signing record in Dubai

Dubai: Emirati writer Qais Sedki is planning to sign more than 1,951 books in a single session.

If successful, he will break the world record for the most number of books signed by one author. He will attempt the record during his signing session for the launch of his new graphic novel 'Gold Ring 2' on March 1.

35-year-old Sedki said: "I don't think I'll be able to use my hand for a week after that," he said. To adhere with record guidelines, the author will get only one five minute break every hour.

Sedki has said he will donate 15 per cent of sales to the charity, Dubai Cares. The event will take place at the Kinokuniya Bookstore in The Dubai Mall from 10am.
