Dubai’s metro services will be available around the clock on New Year’s Eve, daily newspaper The National reported on Sunday quoting head of the Road and Transportation Authority (RTA).
The metro will be operating from 6am on December 31 until it closes on the evening of January 1, the report quoted RTA chief Ahmed Al Hammadi as saying.
Trains will be running every two and half minutes during peak hours and every eight minutes during regular traffic hours, the report added.
RTA is also planning to provide thousands of extra car-parking spaces at lively spots like the World Trade Centre, the Meydan racecourse to avoid traffic jams that occurred during the same time in 2012.
