Dubai Creek Marina hosts Pre-Owned Boat Show 2013

Dubai Creek Marina hosts Pre-Owned Boat Show 2013

The Pre-Owned Boat Show 2013, which was postponed by a couple of days because of the weather conditions in Dubai, is now on at the iconic Dubai Creek Marina.

And with the event now extended until Monday (tomorrow) you can still enjoy a raft of family activities at the venue.

The event is free to enter and will treat the visitors and boating enthusiasts of all ages to not just a bevy of beautiful boats, but also rowing and stand-up paddle races, as well a special race featuring Dubai Surf Ski Club.

Other facilities during the show include the Fiesta Bodega Island, a Spanish-themed food and beverage experience, as well as Kids Zone by Mumzworld which will feature dance classes, a bouncy castle, wall climbing and much more.

Commenting on the event, Abdullah Ali Al Noon, Marina Operations Manager – Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, said: “The 2012 Pre- Owned Boat Show was a great success, with 29 yachts sold over the three days at an accumulated value of more than AED 9.5 million.

"But it is not just business as the event will have fun for the whole family. We welcomed 7,200 people to the event last year and look forward to even more visitors in 2013.”

The event, now in its fourth year, is sponsored by Midex Airlines and is the only event of its type in the region, enabling boat buyers to effectively “buy and sail” on the same day thanks to direct access to sellers, financiers and insurers, who will be present on-site throughout the three days.

The goal of the show is to make sailing more accessible to everyone and provides visitors with the opportunity to view striking pre-owned boats for sale as well as take part in exciting activities on the waterfront.

Supported by event partner, Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Company (Ascana), the Pre-Owned Boat Show coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the Dubai Creek Golf Club – a major milestone in the history of the club – and will feature exhibitors including Mercedes, Arabian Yachts, Al Jeer Marina and JPS Yacht Services.

Jassim Albastaki, Director General of Midex Airlines, said: “Interest levels for the 2013 Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show has been fantastic, from the public, exhibitors and boat buyers and sellers.

"Owning a boat is more affordable than some people may think, so we encourage everyone to come down, see the boats and enjoy an activity filled three days.”
