Chennai, Aug 8 (IANS) Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh remains in critical condition, doctors said Wednesday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan met Deshmukh's family along with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
According to a hospital official, Deshmukh, 67, was on life-support system.
"The doctors have decided to keep him under observation before deciding on liver transplant surgery," he said.
The hospital said Deshmukh had a serious liver ailment. Deshmukh was brought to the hospital here Monday evening from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai in an air ambulance.
From Chennai airport, he was brought to Global Hospital.
