Just when it looked like summer was approaching, temperatures are plummeting across the UAE, thanks to strong winds, according to national daily Gulf News. And now the UAE National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned motorists and sea goers to take extra care as conditions worsen.
The Shamal - a north-westerly wind – has brought in cooler windy conditions, pushing the mercury down throughout the country. Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 11C at night.
And with strong winds kicking up the dust and sand, lowering visibility inland motorists are being advised to take extra care, the report added.
ROUGH SEAS
Meanwhile, fishermen and sailors are being warned against setting out to sea, as winds are expected to reach up to 55km/h causing dangerous conditions.
There is also a chance of high humidity overnight from Tuesday into early Wednesday morning with a chance of fog in some areas the report added.
