New Year's Day holiday for UAE

New Year's Day has been declared a holiday for UAE residents.

Both public and private sector employees will be off on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 to mark the start of the new year, according to official news agency WAM.

Meanwhile, Emirates 24/7 has published a list of all public holidays for next year. According to the website, government sector employees will likely enjoy 13 public holidays in 2014, while private sector employees will have 10 days off.
