Residents in the UAE will enjoy a day off on New Year's day, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Ministries, federal bodies and private sector employees will have a holiday on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, on the occasion of New Year, state news agency WAM reported.
Work will resume on Wednesday, January 2, according to a statement issued by Humaid Mohammad Al Quttami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority of Human Resources.
