Tesco Clubcard Boost

Tesco has launched a new Summer Clubcard Boost event, allowing you to exchange your Clubcard points for much higher value vouchers than usual.

Every £5 in Clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for tokens worth £10 to spend in selected departments, online and in store. What’s more, you get £3 to spend on grocery deliveries for every £1.50 of vouchers you exchange.

Clubcard Boost is available in all sorts of different departments at Tesco, including clothing and school uniforms, back to school, and the opticians. Note that there are some exclusions. You can get a full list on this section of the Clubcard website.

Clubcard Boost is also available on all departments on Tesco Direct and Tesco’s Hudl tablet.

Swapping your Clubcard vouchers

You can do this online or in-store. Be careful though as your tokens can only be redeemed in your selected department.

There’s no limit to how many vouchers you can exchange, but you must use your tokens by 8th September (except for Hudl or grocery deliveries, in which case you have six months to use them).

Boosting your Clubcard points

There are plenty of ways to boost your Clubcard points balance besides doing all of your shopping at Tesco.

For example there’s the Tesco Clubcard credit cards. The Tesco Bank Clubcard for Purchases offers a market-leading 19-month 0% period on your spending. You earn five Clubcard points for every £4 you spend in-store or on Tesco Fuel, and one point for every £4 you spend everywhere else.

If you have your energy with E.ON you get 1,500 Clubcard points a year. That’s a great deal if E.ON works out cheapest for your energy anyway, but it’s not worth going for if you end up spending far more for your gas and electricity.

You can also fill your car up at Esso, or convert your cashback from TopCashback.

Nectar Double Up & More

Nectar point collectors can cash their points in for much bigger rewards over the next couple of weeks.

Normally 500 Nectar points can be converted into vouchers worth £2.50 when shopping at Sainsbury's. However, during the Double Up & More promotion you can cash them in for vouchers worth £5, £7.50 or even £10 at certain partners.

For example, you can get double the usual value of your points at Pizza Express and Sealife Centres, three times their value at Go Ape centres and all sorts of local zoos and wildlife centres, while you can four times their value at theme parks like Chessington World of Adventures.

Details on all of the partners offering boosted vouchers in the scheme can be found on the Nectar website. The promotion runs until 12th August.

Boosting your Nextar balance

Nectar points can be accrued in all sorts of ways, besides shopping at Sainsbury's. Here's some of the other ways you can boost your balance.

Take out a deal with Sainsbury’s Bank

Certain financial products, like the Sainsbury’s Nectar Purchase Credit Card, get you points just by using them. All you need to do is apply online.

Move to British Gas

With British Gas, customers collect for every energy or maintenance account they have and for straightforward processes, like switching to a Direct Debit. Best of all, you get 5,000 points if you have free insulation installed. Of course, there's no point switching to British Gas if you end paying much more for your energy than with a different energy provider.

Sell your unwanted items at Oxfam

Before you donate your unwanted items, sign up for a ‘Tag your Bag’ account online. This can be linked to your Nectar account. Oxfam will then send you your Tag Your Bag stickers through the post. Just label your donation and take it to an Oxfam shop and you’ll get two points for every £1 your items raise.

Travel with First Trains

Add your Nectar card number to your First account when you buy tickets online and you’ll receive 100 points. After that you’ll get two points for every £1 you spend online and up to 2,500 points on season tickets.
