PARIS, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Algerian state grains agency
OAIC bought at least 700,000 tonnes of optional-origin milling
wheat on Thursday at between $300 and$303 per tonne, cost and
freight included, European traders said.
Some of them said the volume purchased by Algiers may be as
much as 1 million tonnes.
Shipment was for April and May. Algeria had originally
tendered for 100,000 tonnes for shipment in April.
The wheat was likely to come from the European Union, France
in particular, after Algiers recently rejected several cargoes
of South American grain for quality reasons, traders said.
