Abu Dhabi Police arrest love witch doctors

Two people claiming to solve love problems using black magic have been arrested in Abu Dhabi, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Sunday.

Abu Dhabi Police arrested two African suspects who ‘allegedly promise their victims they can solve their family problems in exchange for [AED] 50,000 [USD 13,614] per session,’ after conducting an undercover investigation, the report said

“We got a tip off last month stating that Z.M., 36 and M.S.,50, were conning people promising them to solve their problems and bring back the love and harmony to their relationship with their spouses. A team was formed to investigate the reports, which were proven to be factual,” Gulf News quoted Colonel Dr Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, director of the Organised Crime Section of the Abu Dhabi Police Criminal Investigation Department, as saying.

A policewoman posing as a wife having marital trouble approached one of the suspects and was told to bring a lock of her husband’s hair which would be used in a ‘ritual that would allegedly sort out their marital problems’.

The next day, the policewoman was given ‘magic tools’ to help solve the problems in exchange for the hefty sum.

Police then arrested both suspects.
