The biggest fluke in history as golfer hits par-four hole-in-one

Australian golfer Richard Green isn’t one of the most well-known players on tour. In fact, with just three European Tour victories to his name, you could be excused for having never heard of the 43-year-old before.

However, that is all about to change after Green secured his first ever albatross on a par four with the flukiest hole-in-one you will ever see.

Competing at the Victorian Open’s pro-am event, Green took to the tee at the 15th of the Thirteenth Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads, and shocked the few onlookers, his caddy, the cameraman and, most of all, himself with an ace on the 358 yard hole.

Following his once-in-a-lifetime shot, an astounded Green told the on-course reporter: “I thought I would hit a driver and see what happens, I just pushed it a little bit, it was a good shot, but I knew it was going in the bunker so I was completely oblivious to the fact that it had made its way to the hole somehow.

“I haven't had anything like that happen before, I have had hole in ones during tournaments but they have been shots that have landed by the hole and found their way in.

“They were fantastic moments but an albatross, I have never come close. They are something that may never happen to someone in their career as a professional.”
